The New and Renewable Energy Department (NRE)/Haryana Renewable Energy
Development Agency (HAREDA) in association with Bureau of Energy Efficiency
(BEE) organized Two-Day Regional workshop on “Building Energy Efficiency
Programme/ ECBC in States/ UTs” on 19th & 20th 2022.
Sh. Swatantar Kumar Singal, Chairman HAREDA was the Chief Guest of the
program and mentioned that there is strong need for energy conservation in
buildings and focused approach towards implementation of energy efficiency
programmes in buildings.
Dr. Hanif Qureshi (IPS), Director General, HAREDA discussed the importance of
energy conservation and initiatives of Haryana Govt. for promotion of energy
conservation about the importance of integration of Renewable Energy (RE) in
buildings.
Sh. Saurabh Diddi, Director Bureau of Energy Efficiency, shared the issues
associated with climate change and measures needs to be taken to reduce the
carbon emissions. He also briefed about the importance of energy efficiency in
buildings and initiatives of Bureau of Energy Efficiency among various States. Smt.
Akansha Krishnan, Sector Expert BEE and Smt. Meenal Anand, Sector Expert BEE
also shared the initiatives taken by various States to promote energy efficiency. Sh.
Rajan Rawal, Senior Advisor CRDF made a presentation on Importance of External
Shading in Buildings during the technical session.
Sh. Ranjit Singh, Head, SDA Chandigarh, Sh. Balwan Singh Golen, Project Director,
DNRE and Sh. P. K. Nautiyal, Technical Expert HAREDA and Sh. Sukhchain Singh,
Project Manager HAREDA, Paramjit Singh, PEDA, Gurpreet Singh, SDA Chandigarh
were present in the program along with representatives of Jammu and Kashmir,
Ladakh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi and Haryana ECBC cell and
officers from various Govt. Departments from Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh.
